Community Invited to "Next Practices" Meeting

- Working TOGETHER -

The Wentzville School District takes its community engagement efforts to the next level with a public meeting to discuss WSD “Next Practices” on Thursday, March 1st at 6:00 p.m. at Timberland High School. “Best Practices” is a business term that involves gathering good ideas from successful programs of similar institutions. The idea behind “Next Practices” is to get a fresh perspective, and to engage professionals from outside of the education field in a conversation about how to improve our school district. Those invited to join the panel are representatives of community organizations and businesses including Boeing, General Motors, MasterCard, Edward Jones, SSM and BJC health systems and small business owners. As educators, we want to hear from these experts about what skills they think our graduates need to be successful, where should we be concentrating our resources, and in what direction our District should be heading.

Parents, students, teachers, and community members are invited to attend the panel discussion, and then consider some of the same questions and the suggestions of the panel members in reaching consensus on ideas for improving the District. The panel discussion will be held in the Timberland Theater from 6:00 p.m. until approximately 7:15 p.m., at which time the audience will move to the THS commons to discuss the information in small groups, and then report out their suggestions to the larger group at the end of the meeting. District administrators will review all of the suggestions, and all ideas will also be shared with the WSD Board of Education. Help us help our students as we continually strive to improve our District!
