The City of O’Fallon, Missouri, was recently rated among the ten “Best Cities for the Buck” by Military Times, which publishes monthly news magazines for U.S. military personnel and veterans.

To make the comparison, Military Times looked at 581 places for median income, unemployment rates and cost of living. The organization drew from U.S. Census Bureau data and the Council for Community and Economic Research’s Cost of Living Index (COLI), with cost of living accounting for half the calculation, and median income and unemployment rates each accounting for a quarter,

Military Times also separately listed O’Fallon as one of the top cities in the country for veterans. This is the second year that O’Fallon has been listed as a “best place for veterans.”

“In just about every way that a municipality can be judged, whether as a great place to live, for quality of life, affordability, jobs and public safety, O’Fallon continues to earn national attention,” said Mayor Bill Hennessy. “The O’Fallon City Council and I could not be prouder of these rankings and of our businesses, organizations, police officers and residents who continue to build our City’s reputation as one of the finest in the nation for living and raising a family. We take great pride in how our City treats our nation’s veterans. These men and women have given a large portion of their lives to protecting our freedom, and we are proud to have them call O’Fallon home.”
